general musicage:
The Music on David Letterman - we dig that track "take the long road and walk it," but the video could be SO much cooler
Pearl Jam on tour - but um.. who cares? not me anyway..
looking for Radiohead obsessives...
funny.. you think Rolling Stone's taste might show through in their magazine..

and WE'VE GOT THE FEVER TO TELL!

hope you're all inside [CAUSE IT'S FREAKIN COLD OUT] and relatively stress-free [CAUSE I'M DONE WITH FINALS, I HAVE A FOUR DAY WEEKEND, and I'M A SECOND SEMESTER SENIOR] like yours truly

all i want to do is see Interpol. really. it's not fair.
link from Miss Modernage
speaking of whom, vote for her in the bloggies. i mean really, who else deserves it? CERTAINLY NOT U2, THAT'S WHO! so just take a sec and vote

Divestar linked all the New York Times articles we didnt feel like linking. and Jay, we could ALL replace Kalefa Sanneh as writer for the NYT. that guy has no skills
seriously, some day he's gonna find me and we're gonna brawl and pretty soon they'll be hiring a rock reviewer WITHOUT BROKEN LIMBZ, YA HEARD?

Interpol on massive world tour... of course, they've already been to Chicago. 4 TIMES. WHY!?
and seriously digging the shot out to Paul Simon's "Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes." quality

to Laura, word up to Ghost in the Robot

Audrey's got a nice post up about the Stills.. our second fav unsigned NY band. check out the streaming songs on their site... "Still in Love Song" is killer, as opposed to "Killer Bees," which, while having the word killer in the title, i would not describe as killer. but just as good

everyone say hello to Buortau.com. i'm surprised the domain wasn't already taken, Bort
and in about a day, once they're through setting up my account, SovietPanda.com. i know you've all just shat your pants in anticipation

on a final note, the Exies make all of the lousy Beatles comparisons made about the Vines seem valid

music: Missy Elliot - "Gossip Folks"

Check out John, Dan, and Zack's 20th Century Final Movie.
Sure, it doesn't make any sense, and any REAL class would have to write a paper...
but the 3 or 4 hilarious parts are more than worth your time.
And they support panda conservation, and we're all about... well, pandas.

Ian "admires Janis Joplin for her incredible stage performances and currently loves listening to "Cold Play." "
Yeah that's right, "Cold Play."
WE HATE YOU ALL, GAP CASTING CALL. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME.
I'm not even gonna bother linking to them. Do us all a favor and DON'T VOTE. Couldn't they let in at least ONE startingly handsome seventeen year old? Screw their required demographics

New Pitchfork layout. We're digging the singles column and the 5-a-day reviews (more time wasting for us)... but the new layout.. it's the same, just harder to read because of the colors and now the toolbar goes sideways. not so good
and i've been waiting for this TSOOL review. i burned it on sunday... and kinda as i expected, I just listen to "Sister Surround" [infectious guitar rhythm] and turn it off. much more interested in freshly acquired Flaming Lips and Coldplay. i dont get why so many people had TSOOL on their year end lists, let alone RAVE about it on their year end lists
dude, even Pitchfork's news is lame today. Sure, we're very sad that the D-Plan is breaking up. But the best live band from DC, ever? Bad Brains? hello? [i dont really know, i havent heard them at all]. and then rippin' on Joe Strummer... not cool

music: The White Stripes - "Let's Shake Hands / When I Hear My Name"
Death From Above - "Dead Womb" [NOT DFA (??!), only bass and drums (??!)]
Spoon - Girls Can Tell
Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head
I just have to say... I'm having some CD issues lately. I have no money, and there's so much I wanna buy [Out Hud, Mclusky, Radio 4, Sleater-Kinney, the Microphones...] I am seriously i need of some help here. drop me a line with solutions/suggestions, please

3 things:
1. Imagine our dismay when Miss Modernage made THE SAME EXACT POST WE HAD PLANNED about those freaky Celine Dion car commercials! Like even scarier than that Saturn commercial with the Walkmen in it. Who's gonna buy a car adverstised by Celine Dion?
2. I'm listening to Coldplay a LOT. [why!? I don't know!!?]
3. Planning to attend Sleater-Kinney when they get here. It's about time for some goddamn rock an roll around here.

Music: Sleater-Kinney - "Oh!" ["Ohhhh whoa oh oohhhh"]

I just discovered them! They were just here!
That last US tour this summer better be more than just a plan. [ha.. ha.. plan..]
Ugh.
